This Privacy Policy explains how ViralWatch (“ViralWatch”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use ViralWatch at viralwatch.io (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account data — your email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), and any display name you set.
• Creator context you enter — workspace name, niche, audience, brand voice, and the public competitor handles/URLs you choose to track.
• Billing data — when you subscribe, your name and billing details are collected and processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we retain a Stripe customer/subscription identifier and plan status.
• Usage data — actions taken in the app (e.g. scans run, AI actions), plus standard log data (IP address, browser type, timestamps) used for security and reliability.
• Cookies — we use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session. We do not use advertising cookies.

Public competitor content

The Service analyzes publicly available short-form posts from the competitor accounts you specify (for example, public Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook content). We do not access private accounts or content that is not publicly visible. This content is processed to surface breakout posts and generate analysis and drafts for you.

How we use information

• To provide, operate, and improve the Service.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send transactional emails (confirmation, password reset, trial and subscription notices). We do not send marketing email without consent.
• To protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security threats.

Data retention

We keep your account and workspace data while your account is active. You may delete workspaces at any time; deleting a workspace removes its competitors and saved briefs. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at hello@viralwatch.io. We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@viralwatch.io.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

International users

ViralWatch operates online and may process data on servers in different regions. If you access the Service from outside your region, you consent to processing of your data as described here.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date, and where appropriate we will notify you.
